Nonfoliated
Metamorphic rocks can also be nonfoliated. Instead of the mineral grains being arranged in parallel layers, hte grains are arranged randomly. They do not split into layers. Two common nonfoliated Metamorphic rocks are Quartzite, and Marble. The weakly cemented Quartz particles in Sandstone slowly recrystallize to form Quartzite.
