weathering
Weathering is the process in which rocks are broken down and broken into smaller pieces over time. WEATHERING takes place because of the weather. An example of weathering is this... their are very tiny spaces and holes in a rock. Over time, the spaces fill with water. As the water flows and travels from one hole to another hole, it causes weathering- (chemicals could be carried with the water, loosening the bonds between each grain, helping it break down to smaller pieces.)
